Rockland is a fine example of a Federal style villa situated just above Mt. Pleasant in Fairmount Park.  Since being built in 1810 by prominent Philadelphia merchant George Thomson, it has witnessed the calm uneventful existence of family life. It was bought in 1816 by Isaac C. Jones who lived there with his family until the estate was taken for park purposes. In 2002 the Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia established  Rockland as its new home and, with the Fairmount Park Preservation Trust, completed its restoration in 2005.
