View of the residence known as the Shippen-Wistar House. Built c.1750 by the famous Philadelphia physician Dr. William Shippen and subsequently occupied by his son William Jr., also a noted physician. In 1798, the house was sold to yet another famous physician, Dr. Caspar Wistar.
