Reproduction of original watercolor painting depicting the facade of the Randolph Mansion, a.k.a.Laurel Hill Mansion. The house was built about 1767 by Rebecca Rawle, a wealthy widow. The single-story addition was built about 1800, followed by the construction of the octagonal wing after 1837. The eminent physician Philip Syng Physick bought Laurel Hill in 1828 and passed it down to his daughter Sarah Randolph. It was sold to the Fairmount Park Commission in 1869.
