Sideways view of the clubhouse of the State in Schuylkill, a fishing and social club founded in 1732. Named the Castle, the clubhouse was originally situated opposite the falls of Fairmount on the west bank of the Schuylkill River at Girard Avenue. In 1877 it was relocated to Andalusia, Nicholas Biddle's country estate on the Delaware River in Bucks County.

View of the clubhouse of the State in Schuylkill, a fishing club established in 1732 believed to be the oldest social club in the United States. Called the Castle, the clubhouse was originally situated on the West bank of the Schuylkill opposite the falls of Fairmount. In 1877 it was moved to Andalusia, Nicholas Biddles's country estate on the Delaware River.
