View of the clubhouse of the Schuylkill Fishing Company. Established in 1732, the club is one of the oldest social clubs in the United States. The Castle, as the clubhouse is called, was originally located on the west bank of the Schuylkill River near Girard Avenue. It was moved in 1822 to Rambo's Rock opposite Bartram's Garden and then again in 1877 to Andalusia, Nicholas Biddle's country estate. The cupola on the roof houses a bell which was rung to announce that dinner was being served.
